Each of the 2500 entries in the Journal has been coded with the single activity best fitting its content. A table has been prepared showing, for each month, the single main activity for each of the entries. Supplementary counts have identified all incidents directly or indirectly involving a prisoner and all assaults on, or obstruction of, officers.
